My Relationship with Money
I invest in individual stocks following the Barsi method — a value-oriented, dividend-focused approach built around buying quality companies and holding them for decades, not trading in and out of positions. Alongside that, I invest in real estate investment trusts (REITs), with a particular focus on brick-and-bricks properties: real, income-generating assets rather than paper-only structures. I treat CDs and short-term fixed income strictly as an emergency fund and near-term savings tool, not as a long-term growth strategy.
Everything I write here comes from that same long-term, compounding mindset — patience over speed, consistency over shortcuts.
Why I Write About Finance
I’m not a certified financial advisor, and I don’t pretend to be one. I’m a long-term investor and digital entrepreneur who happens to be genuinely obsessed with this subject — I study personal finance and financial markets on close to a daily basis, not because it’s my job to know it, but because I actually enjoy it. Hand at the Money exists because I wanted a place to translate what I learn into practical, honest content for people figuring out their own finances, without the certification, the sales pitch, or the jargon.
Beyond Hand at the Money
I also write about personal finance for a Portuguese-speaking, Brazilian audience on a sister publication covering the same core topics — behavioral finance, investing fundamentals, and financial education — adapted for that market. Running both projects side by side keeps me close to two different audiences asking many of the same underlying questions about money.
